On May 19, Plains All American Pipeline became aware of a crude oil release from its 24-inch pipeline – Line 901 – from Las Flores to Gaviota, located in Santa Barbara County, Calif. From the day of the incident, there has been an unified effort from federal, state and local officials along with Plains to mitigate the impact of the release on the environment and the community. More than 95 percent of shoreline cleanup is complete, and all beaches are open to the public.
